What We Build

Most "web designers" build the same five-page template for every kind of business — landing, about, services, blog, contact. Bands aren't businesses in that mold. Your website's job is different: get someone from a TikTok comment or a press hit to your music, your show, or your merch in under 10 seconds. We build sites optimized for that path.

Single-Page Artist Site
One scrollable page: bio, music player, tour dates, signup, social. Best for solo artists, new acts, single-release campaigns. Built on Squarespace for ease of update.
From $2,500
Multi-Page Music Site
Full artist or label site: home, music, tour, merch, video, press/EPK, contact. Squarespace Commerce or custom build. Email integration, analytics, SEO baseline included.
$4,500 – $8,500
Release Campaign Microsite
Focused single-album or single-tour landing page. Big visuals, music embed, pre-save links, tour routing, merch tie-in. Lives during the active campaign window then folds into your main site.
From $3,000
Custom Build
Label sites with multi-artist catalogs, festival sites with lineup management, member areas, custom commerce, or unusual integrations. Built on Next.js, hosted wherever you want.
From $10,000

Music-First, Not Generic

  • EPK that journalists actually read. Bio, hi-res press photos, music links, video reel, contact — all on one page, optimized for fast skim.
  • Tour dates that sell tickets. Geo-aware, links to ticketing partners, calendar export, pre-show countdowns.
  • Music players that work everywhere. Spotify, Bandcamp, SoundCloud, Apple Music — embedded properly, autoplay disabled by default (Google penalizes autoplay sites).
  • Merch integration without the Shopify mess. Squarespace Commerce or direct Bandcamp embeds — you control inventory, we make it look like part of the site.
  • Email signup that actually triggers. Mailchimp, ConvertKit, Substack — wired up properly. Most band websites lose 80% of email signups because the form isn't connected to a real list.
  • Built around release moments. If you're dropping an album, the home page becomes the album page during launch week. We design with these moments in mind.

Why Davy vs. a Freelancer

  • Same team, end-to-end. Brand identity, photography, music video, merch, AND the website — all from one studio in Portland. The site looks like the rest of your project because the same team made it.
  • Music-industry pace. We work to release schedules. If your album drops May 15, your site is done April 25 with a full week for QA.
  • SEO-aware out of the gate. Schema markup, meta tags, fast load times, mobile-first. You shouldn't have to hire a separate SEO consultant after launch.
  • You own everything. Squarespace account in your name, custom-build code in your repo, domain in your registrar. We don't hold your site hostage with our login.
  • Industry network access. When you sign with Davy, we put you in front of our roster of labels, sync houses, festival bookers, and fellow artists. Web design is one piece — the rest of the relationship is what matters.

How a Davy Web Project Works

01 · Discovery (30 min, free)
Quick call. Where you are, what you're releasing, what the site needs to do. We say if we're a fit, you decide if we're a fit.
02 · Scope & Quote
We send a fixed-price scope within 48 hours of the call. No "starting at" mystery numbers — you see the full price before signing.
03 · Brand Tie-In
If you don't already have brand assets, we develop them in parallel — typography, palette, photography style. The website inherits from this.
04 · Design & Build
Mockups in week 1–2, build in week 2–4 (single-page) or week 3–6 (multi-page). You see progress weekly, leave comments inline.
05 · QA & Launch
Cross-browser testing, mobile testing, form testing, music-player testing. Launch day we're on standby for any DNS issues.
06 · After Launch
30 days of free post-launch tweaks. Optional ongoing retainer for monthly updates and content rollouts.

Frequently Asked

How much does a band website cost?
Davy's band websites start at around $2,500 for a focused single-page artist site and scale up from there. A full multi-page site with EPK, tour, and merch integration typically runs $4,500–$8,500. Custom label/festival builds with commerce or member areas start around $10,000. We'll quote scope after a 30-minute discovery call.
Do you build on Squarespace, WordPress, or custom?
All three. Most indie artists land on Squarespace because it's fast, easy to maintain, and integrates with the tools they already use. Labels and festivals often need WordPress or a custom React/Next.js build for member areas, multi-artist catalogs, or custom commerce. We pick the platform that fits the project, not the other way around.
What does a music website actually need?
At minimum: a music player or embed (Spotify, Bandcamp, SoundCloud), tour dates section, working email signup, and a press/EPK page. Beyond that: merch store, video reel, photo gallery, news or release archive. We design around what your release plan actually needs, not a template.
Can you migrate my existing site to a new platform?
Yes. We migrate Wix, Bandzoogle, Cargo, GoDaddy sites, and older WordPress builds onto Squarespace or fresh custom builds regularly. URLs and SEO equity are preserved during the move.
Do you also do branding, photography, and merch — or just web?
All of it. Davy is a full-stack creative studio. The visual brand on your website usually comes from the same team that designed your album art, shot your band photos, and printed your merch. That coherence is the entire point — your website looks like the rest of your project because the same team made it.
How long does a band website take to build?
A focused single-page site: 2–3 weeks from kickoff. Standard multi-page artist site: 4–6 weeks. Custom builds: 8–14 weeks depending on scope. Tour-deadline rushes available — tell us your release date during the discovery call.
Will my site rank on Google?
We build with SEO in mind — proper meta titles, schema markup, fast load times, mobile-first design. Ranking for your artist name is straightforward and we hand you a site that performs well. Ranking for broader terms (e.g., "indie band portland") is a longer-term content/backlink play we can scope as part of an ongoing engagement.
Do you handle hosting and ongoing maintenance?
Squarespace sites are hosted by Squarespace — you own the account and pay them directly. Custom builds get hosted on your infrastructure of choice (Vercel, Netlify, AWS) — we set it up and you take over, or we do month-to-month maintenance retainers ($300–$1,200/mo depending on scope).
Can I keep my domain?
Yes. We never take over your domain. You keep it in your registrar (GoDaddy, Namecheap, Google Domains, wherever) and just point DNS at the new site. We help with the DNS configuration if you need it.
Do you only work with Portland-based artists?
No — most of our clients are remote, and Davy works with artists and labels across the US. Our studio is in Portland, but the entire process (discovery call, design review, build, launch) is remote-friendly. We've built sites for artists in NYC, LA, Chicago, Nashville, Atlanta, Austin, Brooklyn, and Philadelphia — among other cities.
What's a "music EPK"?
Electronic Press Kit. The page on your website that journalists, festival bookers, and label A&Rs land on when researching you. Bio (short + long versions), hi-res press photos, music links, video reel, press quotes, contact. We build EPKs as part of every band site by default — most music websites bury the EPK or skip it entirely, which is a missed opportunity.
